One week down!!!!
This week has been probably the most difficult but rewarding week of my entire life. So much has happened. So we flew in on Tuesday and there were 6 other missionaries on my flight and we met up with 2 other ones when we got out of security. then we drove to the CCM, and let me just say that we almost died like 4 times ha ha the roads here are literally insane. everyone just cuts everyone off and the stoplights are more like suggestions to them. So that was really fun. We got here and got checked in had our first few meeting got are companions, mine is Elder Wade from Tennessee, and had dinner then a dang good devotional talking about receiving revelation. Then we went to our rooms and unpacked. We live in an apartment that has three rooms and each room has a companionship. The two other companions are lationo and so the first night was so awkward cause we didn't know any Spanish and they don't know any English Now we are best buds, ha ha every night we read scriptures together and teach them English and they teach us Spanish I don't know what I would do without my latino amigos.
We learn so much here everyday and in every lesson my spanish has gotten to the point where I can talk and hold conversations with lationos at lunch and dinner which wasn"t even a remote possibility the first day I was here It helps that they literally just throw you into spanish right when you get here and after 2 days you are teaching your first lessons in Spnaih which was honestly such a trainwreck but they have gotten so much better since.
Spiritual experience of the week was on monday, we had taught our 4 lesson in Spanish and it was a wreck for everyone in our district. we all struggled with the language and spirit and just teaching our lessons in Spanish, that night me and two other elders in our district gave everyone a priesthood blessing. I have never felt the spirit so strong before in my entire life.A few of the hermanas in our district came up to us after and said that blessing was the only thing that kept them from going home that night. It was a powerful thing for me and it made me realize that the power of priesthood is real. We said things in those blessings that no one but that person could have known about themselves.
There is another girl in my district that is going to Pueble North but other then that no one here is going there. Our roommates and like 10 other latinos are going to Pueble South which is really close.
This week has been rough but I know that with Christ all things are possible . I know the gift of Tongues is real and that God really does love all of his children.
There is a quote here that is the days feel like weeks and the weeks feel like days and that is so true.
Love Elder King.
