baptism of family gutierrez
August 27, 2018 at 4:11 PM

This week was full of milagros (forgot this word in English sorry)  here in Tezopquipan.  But I want to focus on one of them today.

We had a baptism of a family of 4.  family Gutierrez, Mario, Tania, Lizette, y Linda.  The first time this ward has seen a baptism of an entire family but it was really special for me.  This family has been being taught by the missionaries for over 2 years and have seen so many different missionaries but never wanted to progress. My first lesson with them Mario the dad said he doesn't believe in God, only Satan because he has had a lot of trials in his life and i mean a lot, So we left this lesson really discouraged our second lesson I felt impressed to share my life experience with him.  From moving schools during my sophomore year, to having my teammate commit suicide.  I even told him about losing a state championship in soccer ha ha.  But I told him my whole life story and how the gospel has helped shape me to become who I am today.  and how my faith and hope in god and Jesus Christ have helped me have joy when I am discouraged.  that Sunday he assisted church for the first time with us and him family.  We also helped them with a knowledge about family history work and how he can preform the ordnance for his family after his baptism which really helped him a lot.  We've had sooo many ups and down s with this family but we were able to baptize them and it was one of the most spiritual experiences I've had during my 4 months in the mission.

They also bought us these shirts that say Tlaxcala Mexico with an Aztec sun on front.  I'm going to have them all sign it and have it forever as a memory of this family.  they are literally so precious for me.  Also they listen to 80's American music so we jam out all the time ha ha.

Also we road a hour to a convi today to go to MacDonalds and it was so good .  i miss American food.

Congrats to my cousin Zac who finishes his mission this week go kill it in the real world.

hey everyone.

We had a pretty good week here in Tezoquipan with a lot of different things that happened.

First we had exchanged Tuesday so i was in an area called Zachatelco with the lider of the district.  This is one of the biggest areas in the mission so we did a lot of walking but it was fun and I learned  a lot during my time there.

Next we had a zone conference and a lot of rules in our mission changed.  Now we cant drink anything that has cola in it so that includes coca cola, red cola,Pepsi, et.  for our health.  maybe an elder drank to much of it and got sick but who knows.  But I'm going to live in Mexico for 2 years without soccer and with out cocacola.  rip me

We also had stake conference this week and it was really awesome and spiritual i really learn  a lot about the importance of ministering and being a friend to everyone i see in the street.  As well as the importance of temples in our lives and how everything that we do in the church is centered on temple and Jesucristo.
I'm learning so much in my mission and love every second of it.

pictures. our zone , we went adventuring in tlaxcala today and found this stadium for bulls.

Buenas tardes amigos y familia

this week has been super crazy in the mission field and I'll try to remember all that happened.

first off we had the baptism of Hermann Eloisa, she has been taught by missionaries for over 15 years and now has made the decision that she wants to be baptized and we had the honors of baptizing her.  It was a really special moment and we were all crying.  which makes it the 5th time Ive cried in my mission so far...

Next i ate a chicken foot sooooo peep the picks down below.  basically was throwing up the entire time I ate it but I ate it so heck yeah at that.  as well as I ate pig skin in a taco... also all the members have found out that I have not eaten pig foot or rabbit so they all have plans to eat that with me so basically going to die.

Worst news of the week our president made it a rule that we cant play soccer in our mission at all.  So I'm going to go 2 years living in Mexico without playing soccer so that's fun.

But other than that we have been working really hard and have been seeing a lot of success in our area as well as with the families that we are teaching nothing brings me more joy than seeing a family come to know the truth and fell the spirit in their home and be mas united in all things.

I know this church is true and that this gospel really does bless families.  I have seen it countless times in my own home as well as with the families that i am teaching.  I am grateful to say that I am a member of La lglesia de jesucristo de Los Santo De LosUtimos Dias.  and that I ge to be an instrument in hands of the Lord every day for 20 more months of my life.

Ho la

Well Ive survived another week in Mexico.

This week was super spiritual and went by super fast.  We had a family home evening with our stake president and a family that we are teaching and after this family home evening their baptism date moved forward 2 weeks to this Saturday.  As well as another family we are reaching came to sacrament meeting this week which was testimony meeting and want to be baptized this Saturday as well.  so right now we have 5 baptisms this week.

We have also been working really hard at contacting new people to have more people to teach it started out really slow but now we are able to see the hand of the lord in the work with the people that we have found that really want to accept the gospel and learn more.

I know this church is true and that I am here in this mission for a reason.  I know with all my heart that families can be together forever and no matter what happens we can always love each other.  I know the Book of Mormon is true and that we can become closer to God in this Book than any other book of scripture.  i know these things to be true.

also I know English is really hard now.

I don have any cool pics this week so here is pic of me and 18 year old in our ward named Shannah.  We did divisions to go

Ho la,

Your boy Elder King is officially 19 years old.  and let me tell you Latinos make sure you are well fed on your birthday.  Every appointment we had they gave us food and made us eat all of the food.  I have never eaten so much food in my entire life ha ha .

This week we had transfers in our mission but Elder Calderon and I are still here in Tezoquipan for another 6 weeks which is awesome cause we get to work with the people that are progressing in our area and the members.

I got to dedicate my first home this week cause there was a bad spirit in it ha it was loco cause we for sure felt the bad spirit in the very last room.  after words me and my companion said a prayer and sang a hymn.

This is also the first week where I was not stopped by a borrachito enlat calle.  Drunk guy in the street.  that probably was the milagro of this wee.

Other than that not a lot happened.  We are working really hard with the people that we are teaching and also contacting like crazy,   but we found a lot of people who were being taught before and have appointments with them later this week.

Pictures on of the cakes that I ate with my companion a kid who had  a Spanish Fork baseball shirt on, i took a picture for all my family that's in Spanish Fork for the summer.  last picture with my first district in the mission field.

Con Amour
Elder King.

Hey y'all

So I actually had 2 salads this weeks during comida with miembros and it was awesome cause they were my first salads in the 2 months that I have lived in Mexico.  We have to take vitamins everyday because we don't eat a lot of vegetable's here and if we don't take the vitamins our hair will start to fall out so good at us ha ha.

This wee was awesome for us.  We found 10 new investigators and got a baptismal date with a few others.  The work here is pretty tough and slow cause there are a lot of super catholic people but we are constantly moving and working and we can see the milagros because of it.

(for got that word in English)  my Spanish has been getting a lot better but there is still so much I need to learn.  Everyone here has a lot of patience with me which is good and we have actually been able to teach h people lessons cause they come up and try and talk to me in English then we start talking and hit them with the restoration and they want to learn more and practice English.  so it helps being a 6 foot tall white guy in the middle of Mexico.

Our new mission president just got here this week and so we get to go up to Puebla and meet him Thursday.  it will be interesting to see if he changes anything about our mission.

love Elder King
