Finally 19 (manana July 23, 2018

ho la from the great state of Tlaxcala Mexico

This week has been really good and we have really seen the hand of the Lord with us in this work.  first of we had 8 people that we are teaching come to sacrament with us which is awesome.  I think they all came cause they knew i would be giving a talk which actually went pretty well.   My first talk in Spanish outside the CCM and it was almost 15 minutes long which is a milagro in its self.  But we have 2 families that we are teaching that want to get baptized so we are working really hard with them to keep them progressing only problem is one of them the parents aren't married so we are working on getting them married and working with the bisop and stuff.  Basically wedding planners.  So if you need a wedding planned hit me up.

We had interviews with our new presidente this week and he is awesome super powerful and spiritual.  I'm excited to get to know him and his family more over the next 21 months that I have here.  The time goes by so fast because we really only have one thing to do during the day and that's preach the restored gospel so that's good.

Tomorrow is my birthday and we have 4 citas with members and people we are teaching to eat cake and celebrate with them ha ha.  And of course share a message of the gospel.

Sometimes it can be super difficult to work here with the people but the video missionary work and the atonement keeps me motivated when I'm tired and want to stop ha ha.

Love you guys

Ho la

This week was awesome!

First off we got to meet our new Mission President who got here this week Presidente Barron and his family.  He has 5 kids, the oldest is 13 and youngest is 4.  He is an awesome leader.  He and his wife both are returned missionaries.  So they know a lot and how to help us, they also brought with them a challenge from Elder Ballard.  to contact 10 new people everyday.  We are working much harder in order to accomplish that.

We had intercmabios this week and both days I was in my area Tezoquipan.  The first day with elder Hunt from Idaho he has been in the mission for 20 months and so I leaned so much from his example and he helped me a lot with Spanish as well.  The second day i was with the district leader.  Elder Mackay also from Idaho and he was a stud as well.

Scary moment of the week we were walking past this house.  Someone inside lit fireworks and I literally thought someone was shooting us.  But i am alive so its all good.

I love this work and i love the people of Mexico ha ha.  So many drunk people walk up to me and try and talk to me in English which is really funny cause they are almost falling over and you cant understand them in English or Spanish.

Also for P day today our district got together cooked steak and watched megamente (megamind) cause we are allowed to watch animated Disney and pixar type movies.

Here are a few of the pictures Devin sent out this week 7-24-2018

Here are a few of the pictures that Devin has sent this week.

Devin king, Monday July 2nd 2018,

Hey ya all

So I actually had 2 salads this week during comida with miembros and it was awesome cause they were my first salads in the 2 months that I have lived in Mexico.  We have to take vitamins everyday because we don't eat a lot of vegetables here and if we don't take the vitamins our hair will start to fall our so gg at us ha ha.

This week was awesome for us.  We found 10 new investigators and got a baptismal date with a few others  The work here is pretty rough and slow cause there are a lot of super catholic people but we are constantly moving and working and we can see the Milagros because of it.
(forgot that word in English)  my Spanish has been getting a lot better but there is still so much I need to learn.  Everyone here has a lot of patience with me which is good and we have actually been able to teach people lessons cause they come up and try and talk to me in English then we start taking and hit them with the restoration and they want to learn more and practice English.  So it helps being a 6 foo tall white guy in the middle of Mexico.

Out mew mission president just got here this week and so we get to go up to Puebla and meet him Thursday.  It will be interesting to see if he changes anything about our mission.

Ho la

I'm still alive somehow ha ha this has been a crazy week, but i love it so much.  First off we have 5 cities in our area so we are always going back and forth meeting with people and teaching lessons so we don't have down time, ever, which is good.  Also my legs are going to be steel after these two years cause of how much hills we get to walk everyday.  This area is really really catholic and so a lot of people won't even talk to us they just say.  Soy Catolico and close the door and then well knock again but they won't answer ha ha but I love this work so much.

There's a returned missionary in our ward here that sells jello to people every morning and he always stops and gives us jello for free which is cool but at the same time sucks cause I hate jello ha ha.  Also I have never eaten so many tortillas in my lifetime every meal with members you'll eat probably 5 or 6 tortillas with what ever food you are eating.  The food here is pretty bomb but I have also eaten some pretty sketch things.

I have also been humbled to my core this week with some of the houses and living situation I've seen.  But I love these people soooo much and would honestly do anything for some of the people that I've met.  Our best investigator right is a 13 year old kid named Filipe.  His family has meet with missionaries before and weren't receptive but his sister and him came to church with us and felt the spirit really strong.  I really do think that it is their time to hear the gospel.

We had a baptism Saturday with a hermana  named Mirian Lopez which was awesome and well and I was able to baptize her which was cool for meas well.

I love you guys and I love this gospel so much.  This week has kicked my butt and really made me doubt a lot of things about myself but through the Lord all things are possible
