Hey I know I said i wasn;t going to write this week but they let us have P-day today so I'm just going to write a group email and only this

This week was pretty great we had a baptism of Hermina named Rosa Maris, she is the daughter of a Hermina that we baptized about a month and a half ago.  She had a few doubts about a few things and so it was a little bit of a slower process to baptize her but we had the chance t do it this week.  Which was super awesome.  These two Hermina's really have been really interesting to teach these two Hermina's because they have a lot of really weird question that don;t really apply to the gospel but at the same time they do sooooo we always go prepared for what ever question they might ask.

Also this week we had zone conference for Christmas and it was a lot of fun.  I has been awesome getting to know a of people in this mission even though I've only been in one area live gotten to know some of the other missionaries that are in our Zone and the other zone that's close to ours.  but I still only know only about one fourth of the mission ha ha

anyway Felice Natividad y prospero anl felicidad.

Baptism and Christmas light.
December 17, 2018 at 4:43

Hey everyone first things first I love Mexico its great the people are crazy and we have lots of fun.

This week we had another baptism here in Tezoquipan.  which is awesome her name is Lilia Cayetano,  and she was honestly an investigator of gold.  She didn't have a single problem with the Word of Wisdom or law of chastity or anything and almost always there is a  problem so we a were pretty excited about that.  The also has made a lot of friends in the ward already so we are excited that she can be really active in the Gospel.  She also has a son that's 13 years old and we are working with him to see if he wants to get baptized too.  His Mom wants him to server mission in the future as well so we are going to keep working with him to help him out.

We did companion excanges this week so i was able to work with some of the elder in my district.  The first day was with elder Robinson from Provo, Utah,  he has 2 months in the mission and cant speak any Spanish and I have a goal to only speak Spanish in my mission so he was bummed. we didn't speak English , and the second day was with his compansion Elder Perez from Guatamala.  But it was awesome to work with them and help them improve a few things in their work as missionaries Ive been able to see the hand of the Lord a lot as a district leader and see how the Gospel can help not only the people that we teach but also the missonaries that are serving in the mission.

Hope you all doing well. next week I wont be writing cause our P-day is going to be Christmas day and i ge to talk with the family so I'll wee you all in 2 weeks basically

Its like Utah without the snow.
December 10, 2018 4:05pm

Hey everyone I hope evenings going great back home.

Its starting to get really cold here in Tlaxcala its funn6y cause it will be super hot during the day and then suddenly it changes to be super cold.  So its a little difficult to prepare and see if I should bring a jacket or no but yeah me and my companion are getting a little better about preparing for the cold weather.  Everyone here is getting ready for Christmas  its actually a lot bigger than I thought it would be everyone is putting up their lights and the town Park is decorated as if it was the north pole.  But the only things that is different is that their isn't any snow so that's a bummer.

We have been working really hard here in Tezoquipan so that we can have a lot of Christmas Miracles.  The first is that we are going to baptize this week so we are getting ready for that.  The hermana is really ecitied as well and honestly shes basically already a member which is awesome we also have a family of 4 that's progressing a lot as well and has been coming to church so we are working with them as well which has been super awesome.

The members have been joking around with me as well and saying that they are going to buy me a spot of land here so that I can build a my house cause I'm going to be spending my whole mission here   Its been awesome getting to know them and developing these relation ships with them that are really special.

Love you all and hope you have a great wee.

Hey everyone.

We had another amazing week here in the ward Tezoquipan, and also had the opportunity of having a lot of spiritual experiences.

First off we had another baptism which was awesome.  her name is Estefania Olvara and is the niece of a member in the ward they wanted to learn more about the church and religion of her aunt and just showed up one day to church and we were able to teach her and baptize her which was awesome.  Second we had the primary program this week and 13 investigators came to church which was really awesome also one of the families that I had a chance to reactivate sang the hymn families can be to gather forever and I started to cry ha ha so there is that.

We are going to have transfers this week so who knows whats going to happen.  I now have 6 months here in Tezoquipan so a lot of people are saying that I'm going to get transferred but who knows really.  We will have to wait and see.

I really know what else to say for this week but love you all and hope everything is going well.

Monday, Nov. 12, 2018

Hey everyone this week was really good and really spiritual.

First off the subject of this email is today we were hungry and so we went over to a members house that almost always gives us food for free ha ha and we went and he said he would buy us a pizza if I beat him in a wrestling match and if not then I would have to buy him a pizza.  Long story Short I  won and it was super hard cause he is a little bit over weight.

This week was really awesome because we had the chance to have two conferences.  the first was a zone conference that we had in the city of Puebla.  A member of the seventy came named Elder Pingree, it was such a spiritual experience.  We also had the chance to leave our house the night before and sleep with some elders in Puebla cause our area is pretty far away from the offices so we were able to have a sleep over with 6t Elders it was awesome.  We did splits and went and worked and found some miracles then we went to the house and ordered a pizza.  The other conference we had was a special conference for the country of Mexico and there were a lot of interesting talks that I really liked with a lot of focus of temples.  One of them said something that I really liked.  he said Our Temple recommends are our passports to the celestial kingdom as as our visa if we don't renew our Temple recommends it is as if we don't renew our ticket to live with God."

I really leaned a lot this week.  As well as I now have 6 months in my mission.  Time files when you're having fun.

Love you all con amour

Daylight Savings and Halloween.
Oct 29th at 5:21PM

Hey everyone,

Daylight savings was probably one of the best moments I've had on my mission so far.

Getting to sleep in for an extra hour was amazing ha ha.

Also everyone here is getting ready for Dia Delos muertos. Its really cool to see all the culture come out and what they actually do in Mexico to celebrate it.  So far the movie Coco is pretty spot on.

Also I taught my companion how to carve a pumpkin today.  Ha Ha I didn't want to do anything today so we stayed home ordered a pizza and carved pumpkins it was awesome and super relaxing.

This week has been super cray and stressful adapting to my new responsibilities as District Leader but it honestly has been such a blessing because I've been working harder than I every have been in my mission and have seen a lot of miracles from it as well.

We had a baptism interview for one of the people that we are teaching but she didn't pass so that was pretty sad for us but she still wants t get baptized which is good.  We are going to wait for an interview with the mission President because its something really serious that we cant really do anything about as missionaries but lets see what our president says.  We also have a few other people that are progressing  a lot and it has been awesome to work with them and help them with trouble and trials that they are having in their life in this moment.  I know that the Lord puts us in the path of certain people who really are ready to listen to the gospel or the need the help of the missionaries in that exact moment.  And its awesome that I can be one of those people that goes and helps others in their trials.

I love all of you and hope everything is going well.

Confirmation and New District leader.
Oct. 22, 2018 4:42 PM

Hey Everyone,

This week has been super interesting and stressful.  We were able to confirm the Sister that we baptized last week and it was super awesome to see how excited she was to be a member of the Church.  So hopefully the ward will help her remain active.

I'm still in my first area in the mission so I'm officially going to be here for 6 months of my mission which is awesome but at the same time I want a little bit of a change.  I was also called to be a district leader this week,  but they changed my district so I have no clue where anyone in my district is or where their chapel's are so it will be fun this week looking for all of that.  And I'm still training my son Elder Torres and we are really getting a long and having a lot of success.

We have been working a lot with some members that are preparing to serve missions as well as the Bishop and we are gaining their trust a lot more.  Its awesome to see the benefits of the hard work that we do everyday especially when we trust in the Lord.

Also we went to Burger King today with some Elders in the area next to ours that are no longer in our district but it was fun and tasty as well.

Also a picture of our old district leader who just finished his mission so we celebrated his death.

Love you guys

We are Getting A Temple
October 8, 2018 pm

This conference weekend was amazing but I just want to start by saying our mission is going to get a temple which is awesome.  All of the members were cheering and crying when they announced it was well as almost all the missionaries yes I was one of them as well, its going to help motivate us a ton to keep working hard and finding more and more people.  I loved all the talks in Conference and encourage all of you to go back and read them as much as you can to be spiritually fed.

Also I am now in a trio.  One of the Elders in the area ours went home because of problems with his ankles so they combined our two areas and made us a trio so we now have basically the biggest area in the mission with a lot of different appointments in a lot of different cities so lets see how that goes.  It only going to be for two weeks because that's how much time we have left in this exchange but lets see what happens.

We had a miracle this week we went to have a baptism interview for one of the people that we are teaching and she brought her son who we haven't taught a lot.  His name is Fernando and he is 20  but we had our district leader interview him as well to see how it sent.. And he passed which was a miracle but now he is a little skeptic but we are going to work with him a lot to keep him excited for this Saturday.

We have had a lot of success with a few less active people in our ward and have been looking for a few families that haven't come to church in a while and its been awesome to teach them and see their faith start to grow again

These are the picture for Oct 1, 2018 the drawing of the Nephritis and laminites

Hey Monday Oct 1, 2018

Hey Everybody.

This week was really good here in Tezoquipan.  To start with mi hijo.  My son Elder Torres is progressing so much its awesome to see how much he is learning and growing in the mission.   Also we visited some Pyramids today with a companionship from a different area.  We were there for over 2 or 3 hours looking at these things and walking around they are huge lo!  It was awesome to see the culture and the history with these.  Pyramids was one of them had a huge painting of a battle between black and white people and underneath it had a little plaque explaining what it was and it tried to give a few explanations of what it was but whats cool is it is literally a painting of a battle between the Nephritis and the Lamentites.

The work here has been super hard these past few weeks we have hit a lot of brick walls and a lot of people with hard hearts that don't really want to listen or change but we have been moving forward with faith and have found a few people that have a lot of desires to progress and accept this gospel so we are working a lot with them to help them move forward.

We also had a zone conference this week and we talked about following the impressions of the spirit and as we Incorporated that into our work we were able to find people that wanted to listen when normally we would be doing another thing.  I really can testify that when we listen to the spirit we can be protected from danger and we can have a lot of spiritual experiences.

I love you guys and hope that you all have an amazing week.

Monday 24, 2018,

Devin King

Another great week here in Mexico.  Everyone in my ward here has found out that I don't like chicken feet and now they are all offering it to me which is awesome and somehow word got to our mission President and now he has been joking around with me too.  I told everyone here if they feed me a chicken foot I'm going to ask for a transfer ha ha its. awesome.  I love Latinos.

Today for P-day we went to Tlaxcala which is the closest biggest city with some members and ate tacos with them and explored it was super awesome to get to know them a little for and talk with them.

We are in a slump right now and are really working hard to find new people to teach and find people that are ready to accept the gospel.  It is super frustrating and super super slow but its what we need to do to keep moving forward in the work.  Missions are not easy ha ha especially when you are training a new Elder and are looking for more people to progress its super challenging but I know we will be blessed for our hard work.

Monday Sept. 2018

Hey Hey

This week was super crazy but good at the same time.  First off it was Independence day here I Mexico.

Saturday so there were a lot of fiestas and crazy drinking Mexicans but its okay ha ha that day we had to be in our house by 7:30 to avoid potential problems.

its fun being a trainer but at the same time its super stressful Ive leaned a lot this week about humility and about thinking about others and not myself and a lot about trusting in the Lord and his timing

There was elder visiting this area during the week and he was able to help us a little and we were able to spend a little bit of time with him and getting to know him ha ha hes awesome and we got a long really well.

last night we had a lesson with our mission President and two different zones.  We were asked if we could bring recent converts and one of our converts was asked to share her testimony with everybody.  I was super nervous when she was asked to do this because she is really shy and i didn't think that she had a testimony that big but she went up there and shared a beautiful testimony about her conversion and how she knows this church is true because before we started visiting her family they were at the point of separation and as we kept visiting them they felt mas Peace and unity in their home and family and she started to cry.  And i also started to cry because it was really special for me to hear her testimony and that we were able to be instruments in the hands of the Lord to help save this family that is really special and precious to me.

Love you all and hope life is going great for everyone

Hey everyone.

Well I am a trainer, i received a new Elder today named elder Torres from Peru and I get to train him in my area Tezoquipan so I am going to be here fro another 3 months while he is learning how to be a missionary ha ha.  I'm super nervous about it but at the same time i now that I can do it with the help of the Lord so lets do this lo!

This last week was pretty crazy with my companion we had a lot of ups and downs but we also had a lot of success.  We found a hermana that has her son that's 20 we taught both of them and they told us in the first lesson that they have received an answer that this is true because we were there with them teaching them which was awesome.  They live in a part of our area that I've only been to 1 time before and so it was awesome that we were able to find them and teach them.

Also it getting really hard to speak English so if my emails don't make any sense i
m sorry.

Pictures some pictures of my last day with my companion and a few members and my new companion.

Monday Sept. 3rd 2018

Devin King

hey hall life has been pretty great here in Tezoquipan, Tlaxcala

We had emergency transfers last Monday so my companion got transferred to Puebla and I'm Senor Companion here in my area with an elder Named Elder Lyle's from California.  he has about a year in the mission and we are working on adjusting to each other because we work in different ways.  he served almost all his mission in big cities in Puebla and its a lot different than the farmlands of Tlaxcala but we are working hard to strengthen our relation ship.

We found a less active member this week named Melvin who has really done a lot of bad things in his life and i mean a lot.  I had tried to find him with my other companion but we never did.  But we found him this week and talked with him and we had a lesson about Repentance and how it is never too late to repent of something that happened in the past and how we can always change because the Atonement is infinite, its not just a one time thing.  I bore my testimony on how it can change his life and how be can receive blessings that he needs when he comes to church and follows the steps of Repentance.  And he started to Cry and i started to cry.  Then my companion shared the video called  "He Lives" about Jesus Christ and what he did for us then we all started crying ha ha it was super spiritual and funny at the same time.

I love this gospel so much and my testimony of the atonement has grown so much during my time here as a missionary.  I love being able to dedicate all of my time in serving the Lord and helping these people understand the atonement and how it can help them change their lives.

baptism of family gutierrez
August 27, 2018 at 4:11 PM

This week was full of milagros (forgot this word in English sorry)  here in Tezopquipan.  But I want to focus on one of them today.

We had a baptism of a family of 4.  family Gutierrez, Mario, Tania, Lizette, y Linda.  The first time this ward has seen a baptism of an entire family but it was really special for me.  This family has been being taught by the missionaries for over 2 years and have seen so many different missionaries but never wanted to progress. My first lesson with them Mario the dad said he doesn't believe in God, only Satan because he has had a lot of trials in his life and i mean a lot, So we left this lesson really discouraged our second lesson I felt impressed to share my life experience with him.  From moving schools during my sophomore year, to having my teammate commit suicide.  I even told him about losing a state championship in soccer ha ha.  But I told him my whole life story and how the gospel has helped shape me to become who I am today.  and how my faith and hope in god and Jesus Christ have helped me have joy when I am discouraged.  that Sunday he assisted church for the first time with us and him family.  We also helped them with a knowledge about family history work and how he can preform the ordnance for his family after his baptism which really helped him a lot.  We've had sooo many ups and down s with this family but we were able to baptize them and it was one of the most spiritual experiences I've had during my 4 months in the mission.

They also bought us these shirts that say Tlaxcala Mexico with an Aztec sun on front.  I'm going to have them all sign it and have it forever as a memory of this family.  they are literally so precious for me.  Also they listen to 80's American music so we jam out all the time ha ha.

Also we road a hour to a convi today to go to MacDonalds and it was so good .  i miss American food.

Congrats to my cousin Zac who finishes his mission this week go kill it in the real world.
